Along with Ramanan the meteorological department of India became popular among the common public. The service of the department during natural disaters came to light ==Rain Man== Oct - Nov of 2015 had heavy rains in Tamil Nadu - Andra belt. Due to which most of the exams in schools and colleges were postponed. Ramanan was the Director of Meteorological Department in Chennai those days and he used to give weather updates about rain most days.
